They discovered moisture problems in their crawl space after investigating some musty odors in their upstairs living area. We provided a detailed estimate for the necessary repairs to the crawl space, including sealing the walls and floor, installing a dehumidifier, and installing an encapsulation system. As part of crawl space encapsulation, it is vital to insulate and seal the crawl space from outside elements.To prevent moisture from getting inside, the crew sealed the foundation vents, around the rim joists, and any visible cracks.The crawl space walls were insulated with SilverGlo, a durable, moisture-resistant foam board.This helps to prevent the accumulation of moisture in the crawl space due to condensation, which can lead to mold growth. To prevent water buildup beneath the vapor barrier and improve drainage, the crew measured and custom fit drainage matting on the crawl space floor.
