The homeowner was recommended a permanent solution after a thorough crawl space inspection. Open vents let outside elements get into the crawl space, and water leaked through cracks in the crawl space walls when it rained.It was also wide enough for snakes and other critters to get in.Thus, the crawl space was damp and humid, inviting mold growth and pest infestations.The crawl space needed to be waterproofed to prevent further damage to the house.Sealing the vents and cracks prevented water and critters from getting in, and we installed SmartPipe Crawl Space Drainage.It's a clog-resistant crawl space drainage system.A custom design includes holes on the top and front so water can drain from the soil and surface.Water is collected from the crawl space walls and the footing/wall joint using a special wall flange. As part of our efforts to ensure a healthy temperature in the crawl space, we installed SilverGlo foam board insulation on the walls. To prevent groundwater from evaporating into the crawl space, the CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed and sealed with high-performance vapor barrier tape.
