Keeping a Crawl Space Dry in Vass, NC
Challenge
Anita contacted Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair concerned about buckling floors and moisture issues at her home in Vass, NC. Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair inspector Justin P met with Anita to go over the crawl space to find out where her issues were coming from and to find the best solution for her problems.
Justin found that Anita's problems were coming from the earth's ground and over time had caused the wood in the crawl space to soften and weaken. The best solution would be to install the CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System.
Solution
Our crew lead by Pedro M. started off the project by removing the old insulation and vapor barrier from the crawl space. The old vapor barrier was not helping keep the moisture from entering the crawl space and the old insulation allowed moisture to enter and caused it to hand and become very wet causing mold and mildew issues. After removing the old vapor barrier and floor joist insulation they sprayed the wood with the Mold'X2 mold and mildew killer. They then installed the Silverglo Insulation Panels of the outer perimeter of the crawl space and then the 10 mil CleanSpace Liner on the ground and a foot up the foundation walls and piers. Next, they installed the Smart Sump Sump Pump System and Sedona Dehumidifier to keep the crawl space nice and dry.
