Settling Home Gets A Lift
Challenge
Michael noticed a few cracks in the wall inside of his home and also noticed that his crawl space was very damp. He contacted Southeast Foundation and Crawl Space Repair & received our expert opinion. The home was built in 1976 and the foundation was being supported by the classic *block and wood* method. Throughout the years the home started to settle and started showing signs of settlement on the interior and exterior.
Solution
- 9 SmartJacks
- 45ft of supplemental beam
- (2) 3ft push piers
Installation of SmartJacks and the supplemental beam provides a great permanent solution for sagging floor joists in a crawl space. Floor joists can sag over time for a variety of reasons including moisture, span is too long or significant additional weight has been added. A supplemental beam supported by SmartJacks solves this problem and levels the home.
