Challenge
Mrs. Roberts home is a one-story home built in 1979. She had the suspicion of foundation failure for some time, including several cracks in her kitchen above the door frames and sagging floors. Upon inspection, Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair determined that the masonry piers had settled, causing the overall structure to drop. Also, the floor joists were over-spanned and bowing which was causing the floor to sag. Along with these issues there was moisture contributing to all the problems.
Solution
Southeast Foundation And Crawl Space Repair remedied the problem by installing twenty-four SmartJacks to lift and stabilize the floor system. Also, sixty feet of supplemental beam was added to help support the floor. To solve the moisture issues in the crawlspace we installed our CleanSpace encapsulation system with the 20 mil liner.
The installation of the SmartJack and supplemental beam lifted the house up and stabilized it. The cracks above the door from in the kitchen were now closed and the sagging in the kitchen.
