Fixing a Damp and Dirty Crawl Space in New Bern, NC

Challenge

Dennis contacted Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair concerned with moisture issues in the crawl space of this New Bern, NC home after having his pest control company tell him he was having issues. The crawl space had a basic plastic liner on the crawl space ground leaving the crawl space vulnerable to an assortment of issues like mold, mildew, wood rot, and pest since the basic liner did not seal the crawl space completely. Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair inspector Andy met with Dennis to go over the crawl space to find the best solution for his issues. 

Solution

The best solution to completely seal the crawl space to keep it dry and free of mold, mildew, and wood rot would be to encapsulate the crawl space with the CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System. The old basic vapor barrier was removed from the crawl space, the SilverGlo Insulation Panels were placed on the foundation walls and the CleanSpace Liner was installed on the floor of the crawl space along with 1 foot up the foundation walls and the piers of the home. The Sedona dehumidifier and the Smart Sump Sump Pump System were installed to help help the crawl space free of moisture.
