Debris Littering the Crawl Space
The crawl space of this home was littered with old construction materials, trash and an old vapor barrier system that had broken down.
Cleaning up the Crawl Space
The crew removed all of the debris along with the insulation and encapsulated it with the CleanSpace Encapsulation System.
SilverGlo Protection
Unlike traditional fiberglass insulation, SilverGlo insulation panels cannot soak up moisture.
Reducing Moisture
Most of the moisture found in a crawl space is caused from the Earth's ground. By encapsulating we are able to block the absorption of moisture from entering the crawl space therefore protecting the home from mold, mildew, and rot.
Capturing HVAC Air
Air coming out of the HVAC ductwork can be captured and kept in the home with an encapsulated crawl space, unlike an open crawl space where the air can be released out of the foundation walls and into the open world.
Small but Powerful Dehumidifier
The Sedona Dehumidifier is one of the smallest and most efficient dehumidifiers on the market. It moves over 300 ft.³ of dry air per minute around the crawl space and is able to remove over 2.9L of water per kilowatt-hour of electricity.
Protecting the Space from Water
With the encapsulation system in place the crawl space is protected from water vapor entering the home from the Earth's ground.
Adding Storage Space in the Crawl Space
With the crawl space encapsulated, we are able to transform the crawl space into additional storage that is no longer prone to the varying humidity throughout the different seasons.
Helping Improve Air Quality
One of the upsides of having the crawl space encapsulated is improving air quality within the home since 50% of your first floor breathable air comes from the crawl space. With the lowering of humidity mold and mildew cannot thrive which in turn improves air quality throughout the home.
Custom Crawl Space Door
Southeast Foundation and Crawl Space Repair installed a custom-built in-house door that is made out of PVC that will last longer than a traditional wood door.
