Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Damp, Humid, and Pest Infested Crawl Space Problem Solved in Carolina Beach, NC
Following a referral from a friend, a Carolina Beach, NC homeowner requested a free crawl space repair estimate from our office. The homeowner was concerned about the amount of moisture in the crawl space and potential health hazards due to mold and mildew growth. Their home also had musty and decaying odors that seeped up into the upper levels, as well as a pest problem. To be sure they had an accurate estimate for any repairs needed, they wanted to have a reputable company inspect the area.
After inspecting the crawl space thoroughly, our crawl space repair expert and specialist discussed his findings with the homeowner. The high humidity levels were a result of open vents and improper sealing. This allowed moisture to enter the crawl space that created musty odors. The torn vapor barrier could not provide a barrier to prevent moisture from entering. As a result of excessive moisture in the crawl space, the insulation became damp and heavy. The insulation eventually fell to the ground. The crawl space floor was covered in rat droppings, which confirmed a pest problem. Based on the inspector's findings, he recommended a permanent solution that would solve the crawl space problem for good. In the inspector's plan, the crawl space would be completely encapsulated, sealed, insulated, and protected from the outside elements with SilverGlo wall insulation. As part of our services, we will also remove the existing vapor barrier and replace it with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System, as well as install drainage matting throughout the floor for adequate drainage, along with a SaniDry Sedona humidifier to help eliminate odors and keep the air dry and healthy. Lastly, the current crawl space door will be replaced with a customized EverLast crawl space door to ensure a complete tight seal. Following the experts' recommendation, they knew Southeast Foundation and Crawl Space Repair were the experts they needed!
The homeowners will have peace of mind knowing their home is permanently protected from moisture, humidity, and pests with our crawl space repair services.
