Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Repairs a Damp Crawl Space in New Bern, NC

To solve a moisture problem in their crawl space, this New Bern, NC homeowner scheduled a free crawl space repair inspection with our office. Upon determining that the issue was caused by water intrusion, Justin recommended encapsulating the crawl space. Justin suggested encapsulating the crawl space because that would create a barrier between the home and the ground. This would prevent moisture from entering the crawl space and create a healthier environment for the home. After Justin explained the benefits of crawl space encapsulation and the installation process, the homeowner was eager to start the repair. Southeast Foundation and Crawl Space Repair foreman Rayford and his crew started by removing damp debris and insulation. Upon removal, the crew was left with a blank canvas to repair the space. They started by treating the crawl space for mold and sealing the space off from outside elements with a high-performance foam insulation and SilverGlo wall insulation board. Drainage Matting was installed on the floor to prevent water from pooling under the liner. CleanSpace vapor barrier was mechanically fastened to the walls, around the support piers, and on the floor. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to keep the crawl space dry and maintain healthy humidity levels.
