Betty contacted Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair after having a termite inspection done. The termite inspector informed Betty that due to the high content of moisture in the crawl space she had the beginning signs to wood rot. They offered to install a vapor barrier cheaply, however, Betty wanted someone with more experience to look at the crawl space. Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair inspector Maurice met with Betty to look over the crawl space and find the issues that she was concerned about. Maurice found that the home did have quite a bit of wood rot and the best solution would be to installing the Smart Jack System along with the supporting beams to put divert the weight of the home from the rotted beams and onto the Smart Jack and Steel Beams. Along with installing the Smart Jack System to prevent any further problems in the future, the best solution would be to encapsulation with crawl space with the CleanSpace Encapsulation System that stops moisture from entering the crawl space that causes such things as wood rot. Betty is thrilled with the results that Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair was able to provide to fix her home.
A homeowner in Ocean Isle Beach, NC, reached out to our office for help with sagging floors in various areas of their home. After inspecting the crawl space, we identified the issue and recommended installing our SmartJack System.
The SmartJack System is a steel support system designed to stabilize and lift sagging floors by addressing weak or shifting crawl space supports. Once installed, the system provided the necessary support to restore the home’s floors to their proper level. The homeowner was thrilled with the results, as their floors were no longer uneven, and the structural integrity of their home was significantly improved.
Water damaged floor joists caused this customers floor to sink and sag. We installed our SmartJack Support System to permanently lift and stabilize the floor above back to level.
Whenever there's moisture in the air, wooden beams and joists can warp, swell, or rot. As these structural elements weaken, the floors sag or flex. This homeowner was experiencing sagging floors above their crawl space for high moisture levels in the crawl space. The wooden beams and joists were rotting. This caused the floor to sag by not having adequate support. We installed our SmartJack Support Posts to lift, level, and stabilize the floors. We also recommended that the homeowner encapsulate their crawl space to prevent moisture from intruding and causing a much bigger issue!
